How the heck are you? It's been a while since we've caught up.
The most exciting news I can share is this--Ashley Johnson! I
found this 15 yr. old singing, guitar-playing, songwriting
superstar in Fairbanks, Alaska (of course!). She is as
beautiful as she is talented as she is down to earth. We'll
be in the studio this summer to record her debut CD. Please
keep in touch by visiting us and clicking Ashley's website
from our welcome page.
Mike K and I recently performed at The Spur in Fairbanks with
Ashley opening for us. We had a great time! I was so happy to
touch down on my old stomping grounds. There's no better
feeling than to sing to people who love and support you. It
was great to be home. My brother was having such a good time,
I thought he was gonna jump up, strip down and do his "Snoopy"
dance. Thanks, Kent, for holding back!!
Days of Our Lives has been airing songs I had the pleasure of
co-writing with D. Brent Nelson (head composer for Days). Brent
is EASY (don't tell anybody) to write with--we wrote, produced,
recorded and mixed a whole CD's worth of material in five weeks.
The rest of the team was also incredible. We had an all-star
group of musicians, including my sister-pal, Jeanette Jurado,
and the whole shebang was mixed by Tony Phillips (Seal, Sting,
Moulin Rouge). Thanks for the wonderful emails of support you've
been sending to Days. Brent and I both appreciate the love! Please
listen for "When Two Chevy's Collide", "December
Rain", "I Am Right
Here", "You Belong To Me", and "Save A Dance"
in upcoming episodes.
"Can't Live Without Your Love", the new Bo & Hope
theme for Days of
Our Lives has just been nominated for Best Adult Contemporary
Song
for the New Music Weekly Awards and IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF YOU! Thank
you again for your love and enthusiasm! Mike K and I will be
performing at the New Music Weekly Awards at The Key Club in LA
on June 26th (BBC Broadcast).
I've also been writing and producing tracks for all-girl punkers,
Jacked Up Betties with my bud, Gabriel Moses. It's been a blast
to
tap the "raw" side and just go wild!! The Betties will
be performing
in trashy Los Angeles hangs this winter. Go to www.JackedUpBetties.com
to stay tuned. PS...The girls can ROCK!
Please look for Peter Stuart's new cd on Vanguard Records. This
guy is
uniquely gifted. I had the honor of singing with him for this
cd and
it was so much fun. He is produced by Curt Schneider--an incredibly
talented producer on the brink of greatness. Wishing you lots
of luck guys!
Thanks again for being there!
